Train the trainer is usually a course where you are sat down with the most dry and unpalatable course materials and the content is drilled into you until you can spit out the talking points verbatim. This course was nothing like that.

The Overhead Crane Train the Trainer course was the most engaging class I have ever participated in. Most of our time was spent getting outside of our comfort zone, working on personal growth, and working on public speaking and communication skills. John Duncan and Mark Chandler were professional, interactive, and each worked their hardest to get each student the most out of the course that we possibly could. I can recommend this training to anyone wishing to grow their communication and presentation skills both inside and outside of a work environment. It teaches you to train the course materials, and the lessons learned will spill over into other parts of your life in the ways you listen to communicate, and respond with insight and attentiveness. 5/5 from me. Hands down.

I’ve taken a lot of courses over the years and found myself dreading it even a year in advance of renewing my tickets. Sitting in a classroom trying to focus and stay awake and figure out the trick questions on the exam was like my worst nightmare.

Every course I’ve taken at MHSA has been the complete opposite experience. They set you up for success and make it enjoyable.

My most recent course was Basic Rigging and Overhead Crane Operator with John Duncan. He’s experienced, personable and always entertaining. Before you know it the class is over and you leave feeling like you are knowledgeable in the subject and actually enjoyed sitting in a classroom for the day.

My calls and emails with questions ranging from contractor certification requirements to my own path towards MSO have always been answered promptly. I appreciate you all!

A worker can be fined by OHS for not wearing a seat belt while driving a forklift and that fine is tied to the worker regular driver’s license. I have been to a couple third party forklift training, and I have never heard of any instructor bring this to light. John's insight on this was very helpful.

I know many workers will change their attitude if they know a forklift seat belt violation is just the same as not wearing a seat belt while driving a car. I have worked in areas where workers are totally ignorant of this. Break the unsafe worksite culture.

I am on route to being an MSO through MHSA. My entire experience whether being taught online through Teams or in person has been amazing. I feel like I have been more then adequately prepared to take on any health and safety challenges ahead. I highly recommend being trained by John Duncan for forklift operation. Mr John Duncan I am a man of word that’s why we jived so cool like turkeys!

I was booked for overhead crane operator course basic rigging and practical. The next 170 word 859 characters are going to be my experience at MHSA and the courses.

June 20th 2022 I’m there at 0800 getting to my class as I walk in and I see this fairly tall man in a Dodge jackets, killer moustache, & slick blue dress shirt. I sit down he starts off the class fairly normal and then this is when it picks up. He starts cracking jokes to engage with the class, as the class keep going and breaks are taken. Did I learn a lot yes would I recommend these course yes.

Now I’m rambling and I’m going to ramble for my 170 words. Overall John Duncan deserves a Raise a promotion and whatever his demands are. He’s an amazing teacher/instructor/knowledge sharer/mind feeder and has so much experience. He has seen a lot and makes learning sorry mind feeding of knowledge so much easier. If I go back to get my forklift ticket I’ll definitely not bring anything of gratitude. My presence should be enough. Mr John Duncan you are amazing never lose your cool and keep doing what you do! HUA!

This past year, MHSA has made some major changes, and hired some new staff. My mouth has dropped to the floor. Everyone at MHSA has so much experience, they're so kind and friendly, so knowledgeable and patient. I get excited when I have to go in for a course. I still like the in person interaction so I'm glad they still have that option. Jessie is an amazing instructor how she can explain the subject thoroughly, provide amazing examples, can answer practically all of our questions. And the energy she brings into the classroom, you know you'll have a great day learning with her.
