Hand Tool & Saw Safety eCourses
The MHSA is proud to announce the release of two new online self-paced, interactive courses!
In the Fall of 2022, the MHSA was granted funding from a creative sentence to develop these courses to help prevent injuries resulting from hand tools and saws. With the help of BIS Safety Solutions, these creative and interactive training courses were conceived. Complete with free downloadable posters, templates, and safety signage, these courses are great for the seasoned worker, new hires, young adults entering the work force and more!
Powered & Non-Powered Hand Tools:
“Learn the basics of hand tool selection, inspection, and maintenance, as well as hazard identification, general lockout tagout procedures, and incident reporting and investigation as you explore a workshop in this interactive course.”
COURSE TOPICS:
Tool selection and inspection
Tool maintenance and preventative maintenance
General lockout and tag out procedures
Hazard Identification
Incident reporting and investigation
COURSE DURATION:
Approximately 45 minutes
Safety for Powered & Non-Powered Saws:
“Learn saw safety basics for powered and non-powered saws while helping to solve a workplace incident in a creative and interactive setting.”
COURSE TOPICS:
Identify and understand the hazards associated with saw operation
Understand the basics of saw hazard controls
Know how to carry out a general pre-operational check and inspection
Identify various forms of hazardous energy
Understand how to implement preventative maintenance practices for saws
COURSE DURATION:
Approximately 60 minutes
